Becoming Miss Newark USA

Let's start with the basics. Make sure your wardrobe is ready! There are several competitions that participants compete in three of them being: Spokesmodel, Evening Wear and Introduction.

The examples you see below are of the reigning Miss Newark USA 2021 court. Spokesmodel is performed on stage, in a business attire outfit. Participants are giving speeches about different topics. Some include:

  • How you can change the world

  • Recycle Reuse

  • Career

  • Hobbies

Helpful Tip!

Before you go shopping, look in your closet to see if you have an outfit suitable for the spokesmodel competition.

Do you notice anything similar about the queens' gowns? All of their gowns reach the floor! This is huge at MNUSA, all gowns must touch the floor. Your gown should be a representation of you! Make sure you love your gown, it'll show on your face if you don't! All of the queens are glowing because they really loved the gown they chose for the evening wear competition.

During evening wear you will also compete in introduction. This is a thirty second, moment where you can share who you are, and what you do, with the audience and judges.

The MNUSA 2021 court, mostly bought their dresses online from Amazon, and at the Thrift Store!
